Chavara Cultural Centre, Delhi organized Peace Education Program (U-in-D Talks) at Holy Child Senior Secondary School, Tagore Garden, Delhi, to instill love and compassion, foster a sense of pride in the nation and leadership, and promote peace, harmony, and social integration among students.
India has a rich and ancient history characterized by its enduring commitment to peace and harmony. The concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which means “the World is one Family,” has been a guiding principle in Indian culture, advocating for global unity and peace. India has greatly contributed to the world with the concepts of Ahimsa and satyagraha through which we won the war of independence.
As we reflect on our nation’s journey, we must honor the sacrifices made by our soldiers who have tirelessly worked to maintain peace and protect our country.
However, In 2024, our globe is facing an unrivaled challenge to peace, with 114 countries directly impacted by armed conflict, accounting for 59% of UN member states. The United Nations Peacekeeping Forces are committed to protecting millions of civilians, restoring peace, and igniting hope in humanity in conflict zones across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
India has played a significant role in global peace missions, contributing the largest number of troops to UN peacekeeping operations and making the highest sacrifices, with 177 Indian soldiers having laid down their lives for global peace since 1948.
This gathering aims to educate students on India’s rich heritage of peace, celebrate our diversity, and salute our brave soldiers who have been the guardians of peace.
We join our hands with our soldiers through our sincere prayers.
